Why should you care about conversion tips?
Caution! Using these conversion tips can help you have a higher conversion rate that means a better return on your time and money investment (ROI).
How will these conversion tips help?
Bear with me as I share how…
You can be attracting and persuading your site visitors to take actions that benefit you.
- Generating leads – Signing up for your newsletter and emails.
- Clicking on that link you’re sharing.
- Signing up for a give-away you’re offering.
- Even making a purchase, or
- Giving a donation.
What I’m really talking about is email list building and converting your audience onto your email list.
Conversion Tip #1 Benefit-Oriented Headlines to Build Your List
If you want to grab their attention?
Your headline is the first thing they see on your optin offer; your call to action, or sales page.

You probably already realize that the headline is one of the most important pieces for your blog posts.
But better still…
If you want to build your list, benefit-oriented headlines and copy are your top conversion tips!
Your headline grabs their attention and compels them to continue reading, just like in your blog post.
Using benefit-oriented headlines is like using a silent salesperson announcing to your readers that you have something of value to offer and they really need to check it out by reading more.
To write stronger benefit headlines you can use the “HOW TO” style:

Conversion Tip #2 Headline and Benefit-oriented content
Your headline and the body copy need to tell the same story.
Well, as a blogger you already know that your headline is followed up with strong copy that shares benefits…
It’s your one-two punch of an effective sales page for your optin offer (your call to action).
You know this…
Your optin offer is for collecting names and email addresses from your ideal audience.
As the expert in your field, you’ll offer a solution to their problem in exchange for their contact information.
Go ahead and take a look at my own f.ree teleclass optin offer below, then sign up to get on the call, and review the process of an email optin offer.

Just like any good salesperson your sales copy will be introduced with the promise of a benefit.
Do you see the value of this?
When you offer readers the opportunity to opt in for your list in exchange for something of value to them, you know the people signing up for your list are genuinely interested in what you’re offering, and now you’ll be able to keep in better contact through your emails.
Let’s look at that in more detail…
Now I’m talking about using an optin form, or page, to build your email list.
A lot of bloggers wonder…
But the big question is…
- How, exactly do you get someone to opt into your email list?
It’s not as easy to have people just hand over their contact info and gladly receive your regular emails!
What could you possibly offer your audience to make them take the plunge and hand over their email and names to you…
A lead magnet is what’s used when it comes to building email lists, and are usually
- Webinar presentations
- Video training series
- Free reports
- Free tele-classes – like the ‘Build Your List‘ teleclass I’m offering each month to help others build their lists, even as I am building my own list with my favorite audience.
And lets face it….we all love free training and valuable information.
Yep – your ideal audience is willing to sign up and opt into your list in order to get free stuff that interests them.
You end up with an email list of your ideal subscribers who actually want what you’re offering them.
But here’s the best news …
These are just 2 of many great conversion tips to help your build your email list.
Perhaps not surprisingly, f.ree is still a driver for your audience to share their information.

Headlines are key! I spend quite a bit of time brainstorming and coming up with headlines for my posts. Honestly, I browse magazine titles for inspiration. I also keep a swipe file of headlines that grab my attention. I analyze them to see why they caught my eye and how I can use that format in my posts.
On top of that, I’ve been using subheadlines as well. Making these juicy pull people down the page because they want to continue reading!
I love the idea of a lead magnet, too. I’m already on my 3rd iteration and thinking about changing it up. 🙂 I have opt-in boxes in several locations including at the end of my posts.
Thank you so much for these tips!! Very helpful and a great reminder.
