Marketing Your Business Consistently

Are you marketing your business on a regular basis? If not, then, what is stopping you.

Oh – you could say it’s time! You just don’t have time! Well, if you don’t have the time, then who does? Why not just get started?

And, why not think about why your marketing may really not be getting done.

  • Can you think of a word we could erase from your vocabulary?

The word I’m thinking about here for you is perfection.

I know, we don’t really want to erase this word, but only the baggage that
comes along with it.

When we’re emotionally involved with our perfection:
· We spend a lot of time learning…not much time implementing
· We procrastinate… and procrastinate…
· We spend too much time making it just right (and it’s still not ever going to be perfect anyway!)

I think we all know that – whatever we do will never be “perfect”, until we try it
out in real life with real people and understand it better. That’s how it works.

So here’s something you can write out and look at often:

Imperfect action is better than no action!

Practice, practice and more practice –
Taking lots of imperfect action is what gets us new clients and new business –
it’s what helps us understand what we do and how to do it better.

This practicing of ‘imperfect’ actions does build your confidence in your business and your abilityies to enroll other prospects into your business and close the sale.

Here are a few lessons for acquiring new clients and overcoming your desire for perfection:

Imperfect Action Is Better Than No Action:
Stop waiting for the perfect time, the perfect idea or the perfect presentation to put out there. Use what you have and “just do it”. Act as if and you will become.

You will improve on what you have as you go, but if you don’t put it out there in the first place you’ll never make anything happen

“Perfection” Is Not A One Time Event – It’s A Process of Trial and Error: Try something out (such as making calls on a regular basis), learn from every time you talk with your clients and customers, and make an improvement every time.

Be Honest: Honesty and care is a good policy.
During client conversations don’t think about following the right steps or losing the prospect. Be in your element, be yourself and act as if. Show genuine interest in your clients and trust your instincts. When you are honest and passionate about who you are and what you do the rest will fall into place. It will start happening over and over, automatically.
