Excellent Customer ServiceWhen you build caring relationships with your customers, you are concentrating on excellent customer service. This is when you can increase sales dramatically.

Here’s how to increase sales through exceptional customer service:

Tip #1

People love to hear their name – so call them by their name. Don’ you?

  • If you are speaking to a group – remember their names and what they may have asked previously.
  • How does it make you feel, when someone remembers your name and who you are?
  • We all want to feel important.

Tip #2

Recently I gave a short talk to a networking group. I know from experience that their area is infamous for vendors and local businesses not returning calls. Not a good sign for expecting excellent customer service in the future.

  • So a tip I gave to them to differentiate their businesses?

—  What are the motivators that they could offer?

  • One was to put in their marketing messages – ‘I return calls within 24 hours’.
  • I show up for appointments on time, every time.

A few months ago, I was talking to the owner of a shoe store when I purchased a few gift cards.

  • She said she had an excellent customer service system set up.  So I would be notified of sales, specials and events that might be taking place. Great. Gave them my email with high expectations.
  • Never heard back from them for anything.
  • I dropped by after a friend told my of a huge sale going on at their store. I explained that if I had known about this sooner, I could have referred others.
  • They told me if they had my information, I would have received their notices. OK.

–         I gave them my information, again. And, guess what. You got it. Still nothing came to me.

So, be sure your ‘excellent’ customer service systems are running smoothly.

Or you will be the loser, along with your customers.

Tip #3

Listen and take action on what your customer is saying! That is the most ‘excellent’ customer service you can offer.
