Are You Committed to Your Business Success?

losing winningThere is a reason why some people excel and others never get to play long enough to reach 2nd base.

They may be equally skilled, likable, and trustworthy – but may not be committed to success in their business.

Why is that true for some?

If the barrage of great emails and trainers for our business and Internet marketing has many of us more confused than empowered, take a deep breath and relax. We’re about to take aim at this confusion, blow away the smoke and make things as simple as possible.

But first, we must clear away some smoke.

Most magical things in life are often the result of intention, action and letting go.

How do you make a commitment to something in your business and move on it?

Let’s pretend…

Suppose I said that I knew something that could change your life forever for the better. Would you be interested? Yes? Read on, then.

–         When we make a decision we cut off all other possibility. Doors open and we decide to step through and seize the opportunity.  Or not.

If you’re struggling to take a big step forward in your business, it could mean you’re wavering or uncommitted about something important.

1. Are you really committed enough to do what it takes?

You could decide to do whatever it takes to make a meaningful impact in the world. Beautifully simple, right?

  • Then this is you, committing to being a business owner. No problem. You are on your way.

If you haven’t committed yourself to your dream, your business vision, then you have basically made an unconscious decision to continue to struggle. Whoa! That’s sounds a bit scary, right?

2. Many of us become overwhelmed by all the options.

We see so much out there for building our businesses and are not sure where to start.

It often stops us from really knowing what to do next.

— Let’s say you want to launch a new program, or go out and get 5 new clients.

How do you do this?

** You make a DECISION. This is what will change your life forever.**

Does that sound difficult to you? It could be rather simple.

  • What aren’t we doing that we need to each day, week, month to change?

3. Why do we add the baggage?

Given the pace of today’s world, it has never been easier to find yourself overwhelmed.

  • What can you do?

You could write down everything that you believe is preventing you from achieving your dream.

Then change those beliefs. How?

–         Get Started

  • Ask others who have already done what you want to do and find out what steps they took.
  • Make a list of what needs to be done.
  • Chunk it down to smaller steps.

The key is to make the decision to take the action steps towards your dream, your business vision. You will be greatly rewarded if you do.

So, I encourage you to take action now to make the decisions to move forward in your business and life. Step by step – it is a decision. It is a commitment. And, it is life changing.

“Thank you to my social media guru, who I met with before my September trip to Africa. She, Coaching Business Entrepreneur, Donna L. Ward, walked me through the blogging process, so I could bring you my updates as I traveled through Kenya and Tanzania. Although I could not always post due to limited connections, with her help, I was able to bring you play by play, day by day accounts of what I was seeing and doing as I traversed across the two countries. Thank you Donna, of course more to come on my December trip – that will be less property site inspection and more of the safari game viewing sites. Set up your own meeting with Ms. Donna, you won’t be sorry.” Safari Kay

    Hi Donna,
Sorry about the confusion in posting to whom. If I were creating a business right now this would be very helpful to me. I think many coaches forget the number 1 and 2 reason that it is hard to start a business.
The state of the economy and the need for your business. The capital it takes to start a business. And I would a third, support from your husband or wife or partner. I never see any of the coaches admit to those in their posting. But your post has real value to the ones who can move past those given obstacles and move forward. Thank you for posting this!

Hi and How sweet of you to stop by – I appreciate it!

Yep – understanding what’s stopping us from moving forward it important, for sure.

And, if costs for starting a business is a drawback – think of it like this – the time costs involved are more, the growing as a person is huge, and the dollar costs –

Well, for an online business the cost of a blog are about $90 a year – and then you are on your way with your business – that’s why blogs are booming for businesses!

      Great comment, thank you 🙂

Commitment is scary sometimes. I try to remind myself, when I get commitment-phobic, that decisions don’t have to last forever. Sometimes the realm of possibility feels more comfortable than moving into the reality of actually deciding and doing, where there’s always the possibility of failure. And success!

Thanks for the wonderful, inspiring post. You’ve given me a lot to think about.

Hi Theresa – You brought up a great point – most of us that avoid committing may not be aware that it is fear. And, living in possibilities is more fun, anyway. Then for me, I get frustrated that I’m not getting what I want and re-evaluate what I’m doing. lol

Thank you so much for you heart felt comment. 🙂

It’s amazing how a focused intent can change everything isn’t it? Often times I find the act of writing down my intention can really help solidify it for me. Focus is the key to this I think. Making a purposeful choice on what you are going to create helps bring focus and get results for sure.

    Donna,

I really enjoyed your post, when it comes to running any type of business you have to be committed in order to succeed once you start to lose that focus it is easy for things to go wrong.

Thank you Jason! You so right. I am a very focused person – yet, it really takes that extra step of commitment to keep the momentum moving in the right direction.
