We all know that our results will be determined by how much effort we put into our success. As with anything, the more earnest effort we put into the learning, development and implementation of the information and coaching we receive, the more we will get out of it. And, the quicker we will achieve our goals – our Vision.
No great thing is created suddenly. —Epictetus (A.D.200)
Give yourself permission and space to realize yourself, from a place of self-respect.
As your business coach, I have you write down and feel your Vision as you write and re-read it often. Keeping it in a place you can easily see. Many of you have written affirmations with a future date – knowing that the affirmation helps bring us into the mindset of it actually happening – the date sets us to a point in the future to look forward to, not to hold on to. I have found that the date is just that, a point of reference and the occurrence comes soon, if not on that date!! So, now write your (future) Vision as if you have lived it.
Fall passionately in love with the future you that you would describe in your own Vision.
- How are you feeling being that person?
- Where are you?
- What are you doing?
- What did you learn and do to get there?
Own the feelings and associations you have with your Vision.
We instinctively know that in the absence of a Vision, we are driven by our own day-to-day agenda. Struggling to survive and find happiness – success.
No wind favors he who has no destined port. —Montaigne
The cliché, “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there,” is true. We can view it as speaking to the idea of creating a blueprint for our future. Stephen R. Covey said it in a good way in The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People when he advised us to “Begin with the end in mind.”
Your Vision and Passion can make it so! Step by step – No Matter What!
