Who’s Doing Video Blogging?

Who does video blogging?  Anyone can!

What is video blogging?

It’s combining a video with your blog posts for online video info marketing.

Why would you want to be doing video blogging?

I am sharing this wonderful video that my friend Joan Harrington put up to share my blog post that she resonated with ~ ‘Business Empowerment and Freedom’. (Me basically as a Guest Blogger for Joan) and…

Wow! Of course, I am so honored, thankful, and more motivated than ever to do my own video. And, putting up her video on my blog is great for me, too!

Why would you want to be doing video blogging?

You give your blog a powerful attraction tool – pulling in your audience!

  1. You could have your blog with videos included – or you could just have a vlog ~ blog posts mostly in video form.
  2. Videos are powerful ways to share what you are talking about.
  3. Videos communicate your voice, reveal more of your personality, and your enthusiasm about your work as you help others view you as more credible. Connecting in more ‘real’ ways with your ideal audience.
  4. Exchange a few words of your knowledge as you are inspiring conversations in different and fun ways.
  5. It’s easier for your blog video to be seen on page one of search engines.
  6. Blogs can be more optimized with your videos for further reach using your You Tube marketing channel.

Well I could go on…

The ideas and reasons why video blogging and marketing is so popular are numerous.

The reason many are not using video blogging?

–      Seems complicated.

–      Many are very timid about getting on camera! Very different from doing a ‘selfie’, right?

But, it’s the same as any other marketing tool.

–      Set your goals ~ what is your video being used for?

o   You can grow your YouTube Channel subscribers along with your blog views and traffic.

o   Bring out your personality and awareness about what you do.

o   Have fun with your marketing!

For me it would be to drive traffic. Help others get know me better. AND…Serve my audience in different forms. Because, some people prefer watching-listening, rather reading information.

I like the idea of a video on occasion. I may have to pursue that. Or maybe instead of video doing more of just voice (like a podcast) that is shared as a post on the blog…

That’s excellent, Ray! I know that both are great – and that videos on your site get noticed more by Google – because they also are connected with YouTube 🙂
