Need a Time Out – Or just a Business ‘Start Over’

One or more baseball outings won’t give you what you need to be an amazing baseball player.

But, what if you had a coach (like most do when learning to get better at baseball), and what if you played, practiced everyday? What would your baseball game look like in 12 months from now? Would you be a few steps closer to becoming a good player and teammate?

We can’t always predict the future, but we do know that if we don’t do anything different than we have been doing, the future won’t look much different than the past.

If you want to have consistent results and not work so hard, you will always have to become the top 10% in your game or business niche. And this is developing a mindset and belief that you will make it. Add to that – learning more, practicing more, and being enthusiastic and patient with a strong faith of what is to come.

  • Goals are what you “plan” to accomplish. And, business action steps come from your planning – then take you to your goals.

So, write your goals down. Then, start filling in the blanks.

  • I like to say bridge the GAP, between Point Z (where you see your business) and Point A (where you are now in your business). The act of writing your ideas down will force you to think in actual terms. This is the birth of your action plan.

Follow that action all the way. Consistently and persistently.

As a business, rather you are a consultant or small business owner; you need to have some sort of idea of your goals for that next project.  Know that having your goals broken down into smaller steps will make it a lot easier for you to achieve your goals.

Have you ever felt moved along and spellbound when some sales people start selling you. They start off as if they care, but if you say ‘no’, they make you feel ashamed?  This may be why so many people don’t want to talk to a ‘salesy person’, or someone that advertises hype.

I recently was mesmerized by an online marketing guru’s sales people – and said yes to everything and agreed to it all. In the back of my mind, I was trying to wake myself up – finally when we hung up and a bit of time passed, it was like waking up. I couldn’t believe that I said yes to their offer. I called and had to go through another 30 minutes of just saying ‘no’ and I wanted to cancel. It was a terrible experience!
