Solid How To Tactics That Actually Boost Your Email List

Want some eye-opening tactics to help boost your email list of targeted audiences?

Everyone receives way too much email. Yet we all want to receive great information that’s important to us.

Building your own email list is one of the single most successful ways to connect and build a relationship with your blog readers, promote blog posts, and increase sales.

An email list of targeted audiences increases the chances of your blog being a success.

Need some ‘how-to” tactics that will boost your email list and get your readers to sign up and want more from you…

You Have to…

“Answer the One Question That Matters Most” Steve Jobs

Your readers want and need to be kept up-to-date, educated, and entertained.

1.    You want them to be informed about your blog, educated on your offers, and entertained while discovering what you have for them.

What’s in it for me has to be answered for your readers!

Which is you knowing that your readers want to know the answer to one question: ‘Why should I care?’

Answering this question right off will grab their attention and keep them engaged

2. Add a content optin (box, image or button) can engage readers midway through your blog post.

People who take the time to read your content rather than just scan through it are more engaged with your site but that’s not to say they won’t get distracted and move on.

If you want to boost your email list and continue to engage your readers regularly, then add in optins offers in your blog posts, as I’ve done above, encouraging readers to sign up for free offers, tips, and well, just more valuable information from you.

You can create basic opt in boxes using Aweber (affiliate link), or your own autoresponder and pasting the code into the text section of your posts to get an optin.

3.boost-your-email-list Turn Exiting Site Visitors Into Repeat Visitors With Exit Pop Ups

You know that a lot of people enjoy your content, share, make comments, and leave without signing up to receive more engaging conversation through your emails.

Using exit pop ups to remind people to sign up to and receive more of your expertise and great content before they go can boost your email list growth.

“Give users access to extra content (ebook, PDFs, images etc) in return for their email” – Matthew Barby

You’ll see that I have my own exit pop-up inviting you to join my list and receive a gift of value, plus regular updates to help grow your blog and social media community.

4. You’re creating a content funnelboost-your-email-list

Leading your readers through multiple pages, videos, audios and more of your top quality content that entices, amuses, gets your readers engaged and best of all you’ll be sharing that you know what you’re talking about, even as you’re building and giving a boost to your email list.

This is a journey that you’re taking your readers on.

Do you see the value here?

It means that you understand how your content will help your readers and…

You’re creating a full and broad ranging content experience.

It’s you planning your content roadmap, growing your community, and doing more to boost your email list.

I see value in adding a tag at the end of each post inviting readers to join the mailing list. I think I will implement this and thank you! I do not however care for any kind of pop ups but that is just a personal thing. Thanks so much!

Thanks for sharing some useful tips. I am still building my email list. My older site used a pop up email list but still didn’t see any result. So I decided to remove a pop up subscriber on my new site

These are great tips. I need to start pushing my newsletter on my new blog. As a user, pop ups are a huge turnoff. I realize they serve a purpose but most of the time the interrupt what I came to do: read a blog post.

Out of all the tips mentioned here, I like adding an opt-in button in the middle of blog posts. I think it is a less intrusive or distracting way to catch the attention of readers.

I’ve found that offering some sort of opt-in freebie really helps. My problem now is finding a platform that really works for me.

I don’t know why, but I was always skeptical of pop-ups for building your email list … until I actually tried one on my blog. My email list increased by about 500% over the following couple of months. Crazy, right? But it totally works.

That is fun to hear, Megan – I hear from a few bloggers that they hate popups – yet they’ve not used them, because it seems that a lot of our readers are attracted to what popups offer! Thanks for sharing 🙂

I never thought about creating an email list for my blog readers. It makes sense, especially for those who don’t know how to use Feedly/BlogLovin etc!

Great pointers you’ve shared. Providing your readers with value is a great way to get list converters. I also love using Hello Bar or Sumo Me.

Admittedly, I have slacked when it comes to creating a good newsletter for my readers. I know it is probably a huge benefit but I’ve always been lost when it comes to setting it up. Your post has definitely pushed me to just go for it and do it the right way.

I like the idea of an exit pop up. I don’t like to be bombarded with pop ups as soon as I get on a site but I wouldn’t mind seeing one at the end of my visit.
