Do You Need This Blogging Tip?

Recently I was asked about this blogging tip:this-blogging-tip

“If you could only give one tip to bloggers, what would it be and why?”

It’s taken me a few years to figure this out for myself.

Putting this blogging tip into my own words took some thinking back to my own struggles and why I had them.

The bad news for me was that it seemed to take long time to build my blog into something others might be really interested in reading, sharing, and coming back to.

It was the increased knowledge of myself by researching and writing so many posts, that started me opening myself up to larger and different possibilities in my own blogging journey that would start to set me apart as a professional blogger.

So what helped me find my blogging passion?

>>> This blogging tip was my journey and part of the real answer for me.

I had to allow my journey to change and look back on what really made me happy when I was teaching.

  • I loved using my blog as the hub of my Social Media marketing! And, I was, still am, really good at it.

Understanding started opening for me and I realized the meaning of what so many coaches had been telling me and asking me about…

What was I passionate about?

So in response to the question, “If you could only give one tip to bloggers, what would it be and why?”

My personal answer of discovery is this blogging tip that changed my life…

  • Find your blogging passion, make sure there is an audience for what you want to share, and pursue it.

Because:

  • Your passion will make it easier to put in the necessary push to keep moving forward.
  • Great content can come about as a result of passion plus expertise.
  • You need to make sure you have an audience that wants what you have to offer and know what they will come to your blog looking for.
  • Your passion will help you discover and inspire your ideal audience to think differently and take action to implement in a different way…making someone’s life better.
  • You’ll be building your blog from your passion, expertise, and for the number one reader you want to attract.
  • Then you can move to personal branding to monetize your passion online.

You can be a creative writer and successful promoter, but it’s your passion that will help you succeed and keep your blog thriving.

This blogging tip is the one thing that you need more than anything else.

The next big blogging tip? Make sure that you know You Know Your Blog’s Value Proposition?

==> P.S.S.  Oh – just one other thing. A lot of thought and work has gone into my blog posts and these tips and ideas need to reach more people out there who have a dream to blog and build their business and community through Social Media.

Can you help your friends find these blogging and Social Media tips? All it would take is a quick email or a share on Twitter, Facebook or Google Plus, LinkedIn, or even Stumble Upon.  I’ve included the links you need right here, on this page, to make it quick and easy for you! Thank you!!

It took me a long time to figure out exactly what I was doing with my blog, but eventually, it took on a life of its own and I love the direction it went in.

Very good. I love that you mention passion as being the driving source of a good blog. Nothing else will work unless you have the passion behind what you are doing. Thank you for this great post

I love that you see blogging as a journey. I do too. I use it as a documentation of my adventures with my little family and an outlet to share all I love with the world.

I agree. Too many people are too focused on SEO, affiliate income, etc and forget why they started blogging in the first place. I’m not saying the others aren’t important, but they shouldn’t be the priority.

Oh this is very true! Blogging for profits all starts with “passion”. I don’t do SEO. I HATE IT!!! SEO is long, takes for ever to get indexed, and SEO is just totally boring. I feel so much more free and powerful when I blog with passion in my own voice. Things just flows so easily. Using a blog to grow my business made a huge impact as well.

I love social media managing. I’ve been in web design and marketing for over 5 years now, but I just started my blog Feb 3rd of this year! I did it because I figured why not, actually I don’t really have a reason as to why I started it but I did and I’m in love with it. I’m really hoping I can make enough money to support my family and leave my full time job to be able to spend more time with my family. Thanks for the tip, I loved your article.

I’m not good with SEO what so ever and never have been. I agree that we need to stick to why we started blogging in the beginning and it will take us far.

Donna, this is a great article and I couldn’t agree more. When you are passionate about what you do the rest comes much easier and it really shines through in your content. I can certainly tell that is true with you. Well done.

I totally agree! I think there’s nothing more important, and readers will easily see through a blog that’s not fueled by one individual’s passion.

    Hello Donna!

I agree with what you said in principle, but it isn’t always the case in practice. Now I know this will upset the sheep, but I have a reason behind it. I, too, have a blog that I’m passionate about – in fact, a few. I also have other sites I have setup basically on autopilot.

Knowing what end result (purpose) you have for your blog (or sites) is key. Is it to have a large captive audience? Maybe develop a close knit community? Or to make money online? (or any combination of those choices).

My passionate sites have the largest audience and has anywhere from 5 to 10 times more visitors than my automated sites. However, none of my passionate sites have made a dime and cost me time and resources. Those stupid autosites are the money makers. They make up the bulk of my earnings. So in reality, I should be investing more time with them to increase their potential since I depend upon my living from working online.

Also those autosites cover niches that I could care less about, but others obviously need and find value with them (why I still have them up and running). Even though passion helps and can carry you through – it isn’t always necessary to succeed (depending upon the end goal) 🙂

I think this is good advice. I have been meaning to create a blog that solely focuses on food and drink, which is one of my passions to explore and write about.

Ahhhhhh not gunna lie…I’m one of those people that got swept away with success last fal/winter when my blog took off! It was sponsored this and ad that…. I started to lose the people that read my blog from the beginning:-/ so my 2015 goal is to find a balance without overworking myself;-)

I enjoy writing, but have struggled with what I wanted my blog to be in the past. I love doing, and experiencing, a lot of things, and that’s what I went with – a lifestyle blog. Sometimes I wish I could narrow it down more, but it’d be too hard to narrow my writing and myself down to one or two topics.

I absolutely love this post. I noticed a lot of blogs I read are almost all sponsored posts (not that it’s a bad thing) but sometimes I want to read things that are more about their lives and things sometimes. I guess I’m old school like that from Livejournal and Deadjournal.
