How to Leverage Your Facebook Profile for Facebook Marketing

Would you like to add your Business Page to Your Facebook Profile to give a little nudge for your Facebook marketing?

A lot of small businesses are just starting out with their Facebook pages and aren’t doing much with Facebook marketing because it can be confusing and feel like a waste of precious time.

As a Social Media Coach, I’ve talked to many small businesses and found that about 1 out of 4 don’t realize the difference between a Facebook Profile and a Facebook Page.

Oh…Just in case:

Your Facebook Profile is your personal account on Facebook. You set up your Profile when you sign up on Facebook. Profiles are personal and pages are for business.

You can find out more about that here >> Why should I convert my personal account to a Facebook Page?

Those that want to do more Facebook marketing say:

“I’ve been trying to figure something out, then Facebook keeps changing so much!”

After your Facebook page is ready to share with the world including having it ready to click on your profile page…

You’re going to want to start thinking about your Facebook marketing strategies.

One of the first things you can easily and quickly take care of is ~ connecting your Facebook page to your profile page. This is a huge benefit in getting your page found by people that visit your profile!

Once you’ve edited and connected your Facebook page to your ‘workplace’ area ‘friends’ that visit your profile can hover over or click on the link to your ‘workplace’ and can view your business page, or just click to visit it right there.Facebook-marketing

So have you done this yet?

Awesome value for your Facebook marketing plan includes adding your Facebook page to your profile so that it makes it sooo easy for someone, like me, to look for your page and quickly find it!

Because…

If you’ve not done this yet, it could be one of your biggest marketing mistakes!

But no worries…

In this short video (above), I show you 2 ways to add your business Facebook page to your Facebook profile.

But why would you want to?

Because your current job title and employer is the first thing listed under your profile photo.

Have you ever gone to somebody’s profile and looked for their Facebook page?

It seems that about 50% of the time many profiles don’t share a way to locate their business page.

Frustrating!

I remember years ago, some very kind person sent me a message and asked ‘why don’t you have your Facebook page listed on your profile’?

And I thought well why don’t I?

In the video, I’ll show you the regular way that you can add your page quickly to your Facebook profile.

Then I’ll share a workaround way in case your Facebook profile can’t locate your Facebook page.

So how do you add your Facebook Page as your employer or workplace?Facebook-marketing

This is the straightforward and quickest way:

  1. Go to your profile > then go beneath your image to the Education and Work section. Click the pencil to edit.
  2. Click on ‘Add a workplace’
  3. Begin typing the name of your Facebook page in the ‘Add a workplace’ field.
  4. If you see your page in the drop-down menu, select it.
  5. Then fill out the remaining fields if you’d like and…
  6. Click save.
  7. Presto! You did it!

Oh…One more thing.

Just in case

It doesn’t always happen that easily, as some of us know!

What’s that mean for the ones it doesn’t work out following those easy directions?

If you need help – I have the workaround in the video!

And, I also show the regular way step by step. 🙂

While it’s fresh on your mind watch the video try the first way and if that’s not going to work for you, just easily use the workaround to fix your link to your Facebook page from your profile. Because you can just follow along!

Now you can continue to develop your content strategy for your page and your profile. Ex: consistently posting at least 2 unique images, videos, or pieces of value to your audience each day to increase reach engagement and positive upbeat feel around your age and brand. Ohhh Facebook, the necessary evil that is both time consuming and insanely confusing (FB ads). I would love to crack the code on those because so many people seem to have good luck with them, but me… One click there, zero clicks there – ha! It’s weird.

I know, GiGi – When I first started FB ads, it was really just experimenting and wasting money! But then I’ve had some successes and do need to get back at that – but yes it all takes time! Thank you for your comment!

These days, both small and big businesses must have a Facebook business account since it’s one of the easiest way to reach out to target audience and announce about offerings. Search on FB is one of the first things we do when we want to know more about the brand.
