Fearful in Business?

Fearful In Business
Fearful In Business

The more money you make, the more your business can grow. No pressure.

Then, what stops you?

What does the word failure bring to your thoughts? Fear of failure stops a lot of people. But what does it really mean to fail?

It is painful to fail. But, failure can be an experience of discovery. If we let go of the judgments.

Have you watched movies, or read the autobiography of a great business leader? You know their path to success was via failure. The lessons learned from failure became a hurdle that forced them to stop and reflect about what went wrong, rethink strategy, and move on—often to succeed in an entirely unexpected way.

Business is competitive. It’s just the way it is. It can be focused on a direct way of thinking, and many have a hard time fitting into that framework.

Remember, entrepreneurs are created, not born.

Defining a workable strategy that sets you apart from your competition…

–          Requires creativity along with a direct way of thinking about your business.

As an entrepreneur…You use creativity, imagination, and vision to identify those things that your business does best and that are most important to your target customers. This is building your strategy around your core abilities and skills. Helping you gain more of a long term competitive edge based on what you do best.

So when you start your business you might feel it’s hard to discover who you really are in your business.

What can you do to get beyond the failure, frustration, and pain?

Growing and learning how to develop your business is a process. Most of you will not be overnight successes.

It is a process of…

–          Knowledge and Clarity

–          Preparation

–          Implementation

–          Consistency and Persistence.

Courage to grow beyond failures is cultivated.

Being prepared is so overlooked as part of creating a strategy for success. And, yes over preparing can also be a fear that stops you.

What to do?

Put your plan together. Get your process of success in place. Take action again and again. Make the changes in your plan, take action again. And, repeat.

These are four fears that hold most of us back:

–          Fear of the messy unknown,

–          Fear of being judged,

–          Fear of the first step,

–          Fear of losing control.

Where would you rather be this time next year? Still fighting through fears? I know that fear, money and time often can hold you back.

Ask yourself, or work with your Business Mentor to help find out the one thing that is holding you back from starting or growing your business.

Now do what you need to do to get your business successes coming more often. Once successes starts coming, fear moves aside.

I am curious, how are are you planning on growing your business? Does that question bring inspiration, or fear?

I agree. Fear is paralyzing and holds most of us back. I am guilty of letting my fears get the better of me at times. You have some sage advice there. Thank you.

I do so like your blog posts Donna. This morning I told Robert that I was off to yoga and he suggested that I’m putting off starting that etsy shop. I think he might be right~!

Thanks so much for your insightful article. I particularly appreciated the “it takes 5 years to become an overnight success.” It indeed takes trial and error before you find the right formula that works for you. I think about the many inventions that never would have come to fruition had the inventor had the ‘overnight success’ mentality. They are in it for the long haul! Nice job. Thanks, Tandy

    Hi Donna,

I failed in my two previous business, and the fear of starting again is haunting me. The fear of the unknown is what is keeping me back. I love the simplicity of explanation you have given, will have them implemented.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Hi Donna,

Facing fears in business is something any entrepreneur must be able to do at some point in order to have success. If having a business was easy everyone would do it so you must be willing to do what most will not. Thanks for the reminder 🙂

My Mom always said “Just do it … stop fighting it … it takes too much energy.” which is what I think you are also saying. Good message. Too bad we seem to make things more difficult than that in our heads most of the time. Thanks Donna.
