How to Reach a Larger Audience with Your Key Messages

audience-key-messages

Get a strategy for communicating to your audience with key messages.

Think about this….

As a business and marketer, you’re in a competition to stand out to a larger audience with your key messages to share your expertise.

But, your audience is surrounded by so much information every day.

Your response…

Become “the best answer” with your expertise using consistent and key messages  just for your audience.

Plan to cultivate a loyal community with your messages. Not just advertising messages. But a blend of promotional and native messages that communicate in a fun way about what you do so that your audience can become more involved with.

Take a moment to answer a few enlightening questions below!

Sharing and promoting your expertise and messages through content is the tool that attracts, engages, and inspires action.

Because…

Content is your online capital for reaching and building a larger audience with your key messages.

  • Boosting credibility
  • Influencing
  • Engaging

How do you reach a larger audience?

  • The goal is to reach a larger audience of influencers that will share your information for you.

Word of Mouth is Power

Why would your audience share your information?

  • Others will share great experiences they enjoy, creating twice as much content for you all over the web.

In my experience you need to…

Develop your key messages.

Content that shares a message about you and your business shapes your competitive advantages.

Key message are what you want your audience to know about any key issues of your brand.audience-key-messages

One of the biggest challenges I see is that people don’t understand the transformation or results, they’re providing to their audience.

When you have that understanding of the pain points of your audience…

You’re able to transform your own business.

And you may say I know what I provide and how that helps others.

But, please pay attention anyway…

  1. Let your audience know about the transformations you offer

What are your benefits –  and transformations –  the results your product or service offers?

Now share that in a way that is going to be so powerful and really juicy that they just have to have it.

  1. Create engagement

Instead of talking about the process, your message will be about the results they’re going to get and that is hands down the most powerful thing you can do for your audience.

  1. Motivate action.

Effective key messages anticipate and meet your audience’s needs.

You’ll be sharing an offer through your key messages that’s going to help you serve your audience in a way that helps them step up to another level with you in their own transformation.

  1. The art of listening

You’ll start to better understand how to speak to your audience’s problems and position yourself as the one with the proven solution.

Once you’re clear about the results, the transformation being offered, and put that in your key messages, you’ll find that your content promotion will be shared more often.

  • And when your prospects are clear about what you can do for them, they stop and take notice. Maybe even buy. It’s really as simple as that.

Think for a moment about this…

Why should someone read your content or even listen to what you have to say?

– What’s in it for them?

You could start by writing out several answers to:

  • “The results my readers will get from these key messages are…”

You can begin with statements like:

  • One of the results my readers get is a new sense of their real value and beauty as a woman.
  • I help them find new ways to make time for themselves.
  • They definitely get a stronger connection to (you fill in the blank).

Get specific about what you do for your audience with your key messages.

What Are The Results You’re Offering!

Think about this

– Key messages communicate the benefits and results your audience will get from what you’re offering.

Do you see the value here?

If they get more clarity it’s so that…

– They can move towards what they want, so that they feel good, so that they can live to their potential.

In my own case a key message I like to share with my audience is that:

– They can really tune into and modify their social media marketing and systems to make that work for them more consistently in growing a bigger return on investment for the actions they take.’

Love the idea of thinking first about the results you want your readers/clients to get out of your product or content. I emphasize that a lot when I talk about writing e-courses – to visualize what the end looks like. It helps determine everything that goes into your course (and message!).

It sets you up for providing a solution to people’s problems.

Thanks so much for the post. What a great reminder!

Reaching a larger audience as a blogger is key and is one of my goals this year. Using your already born expertise is key. I love the visualizing the end product or goal. This is a great reminder for all I want to achieve this year!

Excellent tips! Sharing the benefits that people will receive from using your services is extremely important. Quite often people will just promote what they can do, but they do not try to connect with potential clients to show them the advantages and benefits of working together.

I’m more of a show person so I don’t really like to talk about and promote my blog too much. Thankfully all of my hard work is paying off since many of my readers have come up to me when out and about in Chicago to introduce themselves. I really do need to advocate for myself more with sponsors and advertisers, though. Great tips!

I believe it to be the desire of every serious blogger to reach a larger audience. Having said that in order to do so it is equally as important to invest in ourselves and our work. Such a great program. Thank you for sharing.

It’s more challenging now for bloggers like us because many new ones have joined the competition and most of the audience are easily bored or easily switches to other things. But it is still possible only if we truly understand their interests. If we use that knowledge, we will be able to communicate through them. Creating engagement and listening is really important for my opinion.

Thank you Louise! Great insights on these comments and you bring up a great point about audiences being easily and quickly bored – so we need to understand and write to them in their language and using marketing skills! Whew – content is currency

This is great, I struggle (big time) with having that key content that really has value. I love to write, but sometimes I leave it in draft for fear there is no “real” connection being made.

Thank you, Michelle for sharing something so important and that we all struggle with! When you know what makes them tick, you’ll understand how to market and sell.
A great reminder for me is > The more you know about your ideal prospect, the better you can “speak to the pain,” and generate content

I like speakers that listen also to the audience and not only just stay with the script of their presentation. When there are topics that readers or the audience want to relate about that’s quite relevant to the content, it is important to cover them as well–or create a moment of suspense and tell them that these will be discussed on the next hour or the next post. Connection, indeed, matters a lot.

It’s smart to think of the perspective from the other person’s point of view. It helps with the oomph getting put into the content, just so long as you don’t lose your own voice, right? 🙂
