How to Reach Your Social Media Goals in 2023

Social Media Goals: A Simple Definition

Defining Your Content With Your Monthly Theme

Want to get more work done and more quickly?

Constantly having to change hats and not having a plan really does stop the work that is fresh on your mind.

Create Your Social Media Content Strategy so you can use it over and over in:

  • Your blog
  • YouTube
  • Facebook Profile & Page Posts, and Group
  • Pinterest
  • Twitter
  • LinkedIn
  • Landing Page
  • Products – Freebies and Paid Offers
  • Marketing
  • AND…all of this can be personalized for your email list.

Now you’ll have a lot of content to breakdown and

use in many different ways.

Content strategies are critical for marketing success on social media and in your business.

But what exactly are content strategy themes, and how effective are they?

How about thinking about content strategy themes?

As buckets of ideal topics that your niche loves and that you are in business to share, now you have a guide for creating and planning your content.

I know (really well!) that when you can sit, stay focused, and finish a task as you have planned, you feel great about it and get instant gratification!

Because when your content is up and ready, you’re done and good to move on.

But the interruptions seem intentional because suddenly you remember something, like ‘uh-oh’ I need to post in my group, page, Instagram, etc., taking time away from your planned project.

When you have a system you follow, you can take a look at it being all done for the day, week, and even working into the month of growing your business, and it feels like such a release of the ‘have tos’ as you’re getting it done!

You are making life and business more fun!

You can also get your pieces of content ready to go based on a theme.

  • Content marketing with a themed plan means that you can easily (read that as quickly) create and promote your business on several social media platforms, including blogging.

Content strategies are for more than just blogs, websites, and product descriptions.

BUT…What are Content Strategy Themes for and do they work?

You can also get your pieces of content ready to go based on a theme.

Because….

Content marketing with a themed plan means that you can easily (read that as quickly) create and promote your business on several social media platforms, including blogging.

Where can you start?

▶ Defining and Prepping Your Content With a Monthly, or bi-Monthly, Theme…

Also helping you decide on products and services (free and paid) you can put together to work with your content theme!Themed Content , Case Study

Creating your plan for the next two weeks or months can include and help you get it done more quickly when you have themed content you can post on your blog and social media.

  • This means not just spur-of-the-moment writing that you put on a blog or other posts/emails about your newest services, posting it, and feeling like you did a good job getting it done.

Themed content planning is you, and your audience, getting the most out of your content and time. So, why not think in terms of themes?

    • A content theme could be;
      • A blog post or article – with a similar theme or subject for each week for that month, with internal links that lead to the next like-type (themed) blog post.
    • What if you don’t have a blog or website…Write an article for each week of the month based on your theme, and pull your ideal social media posts from that to keep the theme going with your content.
      • What if you wanted to help your ideal client learn more about how you help others?
          • Ex: Say you are a Health Coach, and your content theme was ‘Mindset’. you could write a ‘Case Study’ (a story) to share how your business helped a client.
            • Your headline could be: “Is Healthy Eating a Mindset?
          • Then you could share a story (Case Study) of how you helped clients feel better and reach their health goals by changing their habits and thinking to a ‘Healthy Eating Mindset’.
            • What is/was their problem? How did your services (coaching – training – teaching) help, and how did your ideas/products guide and help them reach a solution?
            • Bring in how you began solving their problem.
            • Talk about the results and the benefits they found and continue successfully using.

So this is you telling a business story about your client’s difficulties and how you worked with them to help solve these issues – then sharing it as a Case Study.

This could be a question that you could work into a paragraph – split this paragraph open into “healthy gut helpers/ideas” and focus on eating a healthy diet of fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and complex carbs. You could introduce massage therapy, an exercise routine that could help regulate your bowel movements, flush out the toxins in your system and leave you feeling more energetic and rejuvenated.

      • And/or you could write one article or more on each of these topics and share that theme for the month. Say with the theme of “6 Gut Health Mindset Tips”.

This helps you create content that is connected with a focus on a subject that interests your niche. Each post will have its one opt-in offer that builds on the last, and all fit into your chosen theme.

Now you’ll have a chunk of content that can start your marketing/sales funnel as it pulls them deeper into wanting more. Because you are continuing to talk about one subject and all the aspects that may have to do with that subject over several blog posts and pulling your social media content from those posts, including videos, podcasts, and more.

All building you up as that expert and

growing your know, like, trust factor.

To help guide you through the content theme creation process, I’m sharing the top seven content creation tips. Each tip builds on the one before it, and if you follow this idea, you’ll be churning out content that attracts, converts, and saves you time and frustration!

Here you go…

You can use the same theme with different formats such as:

    1. A case study
    2. FAQ’s
    3. Trends
    4. Interviews
    5. Your own masterclass
    6. A short video that could tie in the FAQs to one or more of the points listed above. Or a video about the case study!
    7. Podcasts

Take the content pieces of your theme and share them across your favorite platforms, including your email list and blog – to pull in more of your niche and keep them interested.

Another reason you’ll love the themed content idea…

I have read that using content themes gets outcomes that are above and beyond normal.  PLUS – You have a PLAN!

DOUBLE ++ You can fall in love with this idea… and it includes repurposing your content – saving time and headaches. you’ll be asking yourself, why didn’t I do this sooner!?

  • You’ll have your content ready to start batching for the next 2 weeks or more.

Hold On There! What exactly is batching content?

→Batching is when you write that content and then pull your content together, say for the next week or month, in a set amount of time.

  • Say you set aside a day or two to generate blog posts, social media posts, video content, and images, and maybe you do a podcast.
  • The idea is to do your themed content during the time you’ve set aside.

Then you’re ready to go for the next week or month.

This is how you can schedule it and forget about it! I do like to double-check it here and there. And make sure there are no glitches!

  • You’ll have more content to repurpose! Because that’s really what themed content can be used for.
    • Saving time and having a plan already made.
  • You’ll be seen as that expert.

Now think about where your prospects are doing what on social media and how you can engage, listen, and learn what they want to see more of from what they’re saying.

Start by reading Are You Listening On Social Media?

Using social media goals like using a monthly (or bi-monthly) theme attracting and holding onto the attention of your niche audience can get you more involved with a much larger group of your prospects, including those who may not even be online daily.

So how do you find and build your social media audience?

Act on what you learn.

You might need a change in your routines and systems.

When your goals are to build your niche audience, you won’t have to buy their attention – they’ll give it to you.

Because…

You’ll be using “pull marketing”. And that’s what themed content can help with. Pulling them in as they flow with the theme of the same subject with more exploration and explanation that interests them.

It’s less about marketing to them directly, but more about creativity and sharing your passion consistently with your themed content that you know will have that attraction power to pull them in.

You’ll use a blend of your “inbound marketing” skills, including content marketing, organic marketing, social media, and promotion.

Now we’re getting somewhere, right?

Once you know where your audience hangs out, engage with them, and pull them back to your site with content they want more of.

You’ll be the leader in building a community – a large following from your ideal social media platforms.

Your social media goals are to help you attract prospects so you can convert them into customers, and it works well when you know and follow these steps consistently!

This is really informative. I started my blog and social media accounts about 6 weeks ago. I’ve been using a lot of these strategies, and I feel like I’m already doing great things with my social media presence.

Social media is always changing and can be hard to stay up on top. This is all great advice for growing and building your social media. It can be hard to get a gauge of what followers want on social media sometimes.

Social media is constantly changing. Having said that, I have always found that Twitter and Pinterest create the most traffic for my sites. And I love that they are easy to use and that they do not have a lot of filters in regard to what is and is not displayed.

Thanks for this education post Donna! Last year I really wanted to beef up on my social media and network more with my blogging tribe. I was fortunate to achieve that by attending a few blogging conferences and doing blogging meetups. This year I want to raise my social media numbers so your post is very helpful in providing me with tips!

Trying to be everything to everybody did not work for me. My voice was lost. This is excellent advice and I’m looking forward to a year of connecting with other moms who are interested in my child’s apraxia journey, books and the pursuit of coming home to my child.

It’s interesting about Linked In because I don’t hang out there at all. I may want to reconsider that. There must be more to see than what I have in my mind.

Great post Donna thanks for the share. I struggled creating content for quite a while but eventually found my “groove” just by committing to writing every day! I would read and get inspired by something and just do a “brain dump” to get my thoughts out. Over time writing became easier as it was my habit. Until that point, I struggled getting blogging to work for me!

Hi Tim, Yep – Very similar to my own learning method! I wrote a blog post every day for 12 months and received 30,000 visitors – very exciting and I do feel it helped tremendously – Now a few years later I am re-writing (repurposing) those older posts! Thank you so much for your comment. Coach Donna
