Guest Blogging Strategies

Do you know what guest blogging is and how it can be used as one an effective promotional strategy?

To be in the SEO top page rank (PR) may take effort, goal setting, scheduling, and time, but it will prove worth it.  Your business coach can hold you accountable and help you see through this great process!

Part 1 of Guest Blogging – Aim High – ‘you’ll never know unless you ask’ is a saying I really aim at a fair bit.  You might just be surprised. I’ve asked ‘A-listers’ from time to time to come post something for me  – and guess what? They said ‘Yes’ – they took me up on it.

  • I built a relationship with these ‘A-listers’
  • I am very thankful for their posts
  • I advertise this to everyone
  • More people visit my blog – and
  • The ‘A-listers’ even get more attention

Look Offline – some of the most successful guest posts can come from asking  experts in your niche – family members, friends, colleagues or associates might make a great guest poster and bring a unique perspective to your blog.

2nd Part of Guest Blogging – Find a blog – Become a Guest Blogger
Find a blog on your subject and become a guest blogger – if your are allowed to put your url either in the address area or the comment area – this will become a linkback.

These are in-bound links to your site and remember in-bound links are another puzzle piece of your SEO.

Great sites for this are:

Sites similar to yours – for me it might be marketing for small businesses and I would go in see what they are saying and make a comment as a small business coach – promoting my business and what I know.
Educational sites – i.e. search:  .edu blogs (your subject)
Government sites – i.e.  search:  .gov blogs  (your subject)

How to go about this – what is the strategy?

If you did this just 2 or 3 times a week – when people see your name (or the name of your blog) and they will be curious about your site and may visit or even subscribe to your site.

Make this a part of your marketing strategy – set goals –
1.    Write 3 blogs a week – on the same days is what I’ve heard experts say
2.    Write comments as a Guest Blogger, 3 times a week
3.    Write and submit an articles online – 20 times a month – ouch sounds like a lot – and it is a lot of good for your business.

Tell others what your goal is – another way to be held accountable – they can coach you on – make a routine, a habit – it is part of your job – it will be part of your success.

Read a few of the postings in the blog you are ‘guesting’ at, you may want to make a few changes to mirror their style and info. Get into the flow with them.
See how the others are getting linked back to their sites. Usually, their names, cover their url, and links back to their site.

As a business and entrepreneur coach, and from my own experience, I know how difficult it is to get yourself into this routine – but, it is so exciting to see it happening! See your successes!

Hi Donna, Thank you so very much for all your valued information, its about time someone touched on goals, such an important commodity to have. If we don’t have goals, there’s nothing to focus on is there, hence why alot of bloggers give up. All the Best Alison
