Discover the Secret to Sales

sellOkay, so you are a Direct Sales Leader, or an entrepreneur. Congratulations!

Now imagine this…

You create your product. You put up your sales page and order button. Then you unleash your promotion skills to get your offer in front of as many people as possible.

And then…

Nothing. No sales.

  • Well, maybe a tiny trickle. But not the flood of PayPal notifications that you were expecting.

No matter what type of product or service we’re selling, we’re probably always going to be looking for ways to get our offers in front of more prospects… and we’re looking for ways to get folks to click on our affiliates’ links. Right?

  • We know that the more targeted prospects who see our offers , or communicate to us via email, phone or in person, the more money we make.
  • Of course, building the relationship with the right audience is a huge part of that!

So…What do you do, then?

Specialize and Focus Like a Laser

It seems almost counter intuitive – you’d think that if your site needs to appeal to as many people as possible, then you’d get more attention.

But it doesn’t work that way.

Instead, you’ll get more interested people once you center your site’s reason for being and all of your marketing materials, focused in like a laser on one niche – targeting one special group of people within a part of your market.

Example: Let’s say your site teaches people how to build a website. You need to focus on one niche, such as “web design for ebook marketers” or “web design for private practice doctors.”

Now think about it…

Let’s say an ebook marketer wants to learn how to build a site. Is he going to go to “Joe Blow’s Web Design” site… or to the “Web Design for Ebook Marketers Site?” That’s right, he’s going to choose your site because it’s geared for his needs.

Thanks for the tip to specialise and focus to effectively target an audience. Some topics like affiliate marketing, can be all encompassing, so I guess I need to narrow this niche down if I am to reach those interested in achieving success with it. Would targeting beginner affiliate marketers be specialised and focused enough do you think? Thanks for the informative post!

Thank you, Moira – You ask a smart question about your niche being specialized and focused enough as an affiliate marketer –

From what I’ve learned, choosing a BROAD “market” or “target audience” to build your business upon is the idea as an affiliate marketer. A bit different from other marketers. NOT a smaller “niche” here. So , as an affiliate, you could begin by promoting a single product to this market. Then, over time you could promote a wide variety of “related” products. I hope this was helpful?

Finding a niche was the toughest thing I had to do and I am not even sure if I narrowed it down enough. I appreciate your comments about the importance of this.

Thank you Rochelle! It can be a bit perplexing at times.
It does improve your marketing effectiveness to have a narrow niche and narrowing it down are important steps to evaluate. Knowing which niche holds the greatest potential for your future online business success, well, that does say it all!
