You Need a Competitive Edge With Email Marketing

competitive-edge-with-email-marketingEmail is recognized for it’s high return on investment.

That’s why email is still one of the most popular marketing touch points and you need to have that competitive edge with email marketing for your own business!

Having a competitive edge with mail marketing is real-time active marketing and is adding a viable and driven edge to your business relationship building.

That always has a wonderful ring to it…adding a viable and driven edge for your business to get more positive attention from the right people.

As an entrepreneur, you are very aware of your need to reach out and keep in touch with prospective and current clients.

So you create emails and your own competitive edge with email marketing…

  • A biweekly email contact system – one can be a newsletter, one can be updates of offers, events or a free gift.
    • Do you have the right systems in place to make this happen?
      • Auto responders like Aweber. Also helping you stay out of trouble by avoiding breaking the rules of the CAN-SPAM Act.
      • Be consistent.
    • You aim your informational marketing content to your targeted audience.
      • Know who you are targeting, how, why, and when.
      • Understand your targeted clients.
    • Engage with them! This is the best part for me ~ Personalized outreach.
      • Ask for their feedback.
      • Find them on Social Media.
      • Send a note to the ‘unsubscribes’ and chat.

Having a competitive edge with email marketing is a tactic to keep in constant contact with your prospects and customers.

As a business, you have to be a good marketer. Marketing is repetition.

Your competitive edge to email marketing is key to marketing and to maximizing sales.

No. You’re not only sending out sales offers.

–> You’ll send out sales offers after a few newsletters and other good helpful content that build credibility and trust.

The Rule of Seven used to apply in marketing. But now we live in a cluttered world of messages.

You have to stand out as valuable and stay in touch consistently to be seen, heard, and wanted by your targeted audience! Think of it as a dating routine!

Creating a competitive edge with email marketing is part of your strategy to create your sustainable marketing plan to deliver more business, customer sales, and growth for your business, as well as boosting your reputation.

Great post! I agree, the emails I receive that feel more personal to me are the ones I engage with full stop. This is timely advice as I am shortly going to be sending my first newsletter out, so I shall be doing my best to keep it personal, engaging and valuable 😀

Excellent post Donna! I like the analogy that it’s like a dating routine, probably the best way to describe it because it really is about creating a real relationship and that’s how the competitive edge is made with email marketing! Thanks for another great post, love your blog! 🙂

So very nice! Thank you Kat – I also have found that we often give up on relationships a bit too soon and sometimes carry them on a bit long – so it then becomes instinctive as we get better and better.

Absolutely, agree with you saying “The Rule of Seven used to apply in marketing. But now we live in a cluttered world of messages.”

It’s just a new challenge we need to find a way around, using creative techniques like you suggested about sending a note to the unsubscribes! I never even thought about that before. Thanks, Donna!
